WHOA! Time for an update...

I promised myself when I started this blog it wasn't going to be one of those things that I do for about a week and then forget. So here I am, over a month since my last post giving it another go!

Lots has happened...
A very dear friend of mine got married on 8/01 and we found many occasions to celebrate. The highlights include her bachelorette party up north and of course, the ceremony
itself.

I've also spent two long weekends up at my uncel's cabin near Grand Marais. I love it up there, everything about it. The newest addition to the cabin is an indoor sauna and an outdoor wood-burning brick oven. Both amazing, and both add to the "northern, rustic" experience. It is also a great place to get away and reflect.

Inbetween all the fun I have been having this summer I have kept the focus of finding a full-time job that I love. Something that is hard to come by at this point. I really believe that I have figured out what I want to do and how to go about it, it's just finding that in. I have had a couple informational interviews with some of the most intelligent, creative and generous people. Wor
king for a children's book publishing company as an editor or copywriter is what I'm looking for. I know in the future I want to do more hands on work with kids so I think I want to go back to school. I'm thinking a master's in children's psychology or something along those lines. I want to combine creative with educational. And I want to help, do something that makes a positive influence. While I'm working on making this all happen, I am spending some time as the newest sales associate at the Gap. Brushing up on my persuasive sales skills! Always a good thing. I just hope and pray that one of these days or weeks something big will happen. A few publishing houses I've talked to in Minnesota have said that the best way in is through an internship so I will be busy applying for yet another internship for the next couple of weeks.

The last bit of big news...
Martha, one of my closets friends, left mid-August on an 11 month mission trip called the World Race. She will be traveling to 11 countires in 11 months missioning to the poor. She will be in east and west Asia, north Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
