Quick update on my Dad:
He started his 2nd round of chemo yesterday and his hair started falling out last Thursday so we shaved his head on Sunday. We have turned a new corner, up until this point I would forget he was sick, and I know he appreciated the anonymity that came with not looking like a cancer patient. But, it's all out in the open now and it's actually kind of refreshing. Please keep praying for him and my family. He will have tests done next week to see if the chemo is working. The one tumor that is visible is noticeably smaller - and one would think the rest would be shrinking too?!
My sister and I have selected the song There's So Much Energy In Us by Cloud Cult for our family theme song. Fricken love it. Enjoy a live version below:
And lastly, I'd like to share an excerpt from my lovely friend Justine's blog: Coming to Fruition. It's relevance completely caught me off guard, and by the time I was through reading it I was bawling.
This is a passage from the devotional Come Away, My Beloved. It spoke right to me today and I would like to share it.
... Bring Me your sorrows, and watch for the sunrise of the resurrection. Yes, truly there comes always a resurrection–amorning when hope is reborn and life finds new beginning. Wait for it as tulip bulbs anticipate the spring. The rarest blooms are enhanced by the coldness of winter. The snow plays her part in producing spring’s pageant. But when the blossoms break through, we do not turn back to thoughts of winter, but instead, we look ahead to the full joys of the coming summer...
...Let His peace flow in you like a river, carrying away all the poison of painful memories, and bringing to you a fresh, clear stream of pure life and restoring thoughts.
This is not the end. Press on. The goal line is out ahead, and you may yet be a winner in the race of life.
Those are only a few of my favorite paragraphs, but I encourage you to visit her blog and read the entire post.I need to say again, and again and again, thank you to everyone that has reached out. It's not always easy to talk about or bring up, but it does help to talk/write about it. Continue to keep us in your prayers.
Wishing you and yours a very Happy Holiday! Cheers
It's kinda weird I am coming back to read this now...today in class one of the topics we touched on was True Faith, and within true faith is the ability to see the spring that is coming in the midst of winter. Justine's paragraphs completely coincide with this! so cool. Love you girl. I pray your dad be healed in Jesus' name!
